About Me

I’m a digital media systems designer and architect living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For the last seven years, I have worked at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in a variety of digital media jobs, including Java programmer, senior technical lead on major online web projects (The Greatest Canadian, Athens and Torino Olympics websites), web application administrator, and lastly, systems engineer and designer.

I’m also a news junkie and extremely concerned about the decline of mass media and journalism in our society. I’m a passionate advocate for the use of technology to assist in telling good stories, rather than being an afterthought to the construction of that story.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Toronto.

I am married to Meredith Noble, who is an information architect and user experience designer with Usability Matters. We live in Leslieville with our two cats, Gemma and Elliot.

My other interests are in urban affairs and planning, transportation systems, historical transit equipment, live theatre, indie pop/folk/rock, and cycling.
