add a record

Before adding a record, please make sure that the information you are adding is correct. If I find a lot of incorrect data, or data added that has been added by pranksters, I will a) not be happy because I will have to restore the entire database from backups, and as a result of that, b) be forced to restrict database additions to authorized people.

Please also ensure that the artist you are trying to add is not already in the database. Have you spelled the artist's name correctly? Also make sure you have the linker's ID correct (the ID of the artist you are linking your artist to). This will ensure that all internal references are correct.

If you are unsure about what artists are in the database already, please open the query page in a separate window, and make appropriate queries to the database before you add records.This is also the way to find out what is the ID# of the artist you want to link to. You can also find out what artists exist in the database by retrieving a range of artist IDs and seeing what/who already has been added.
